Brendon Quinlivan leads the Development team across U.S. markets, including the sales, development, engineering and construction for all DG customer and channel partnership engagements. Mr. Quinlivan has focused his expertise on the rapid deployment of customer-sited project development, which has created a robust customer and solar asset base within the Luminace portfolio.
Prior to joining Luminace, Mr. Quinlivan was Sr. Vice President for Constellation’s Distributed Solar platform, which he joined in 2011. Prior to Constellation he served in various business development and sales management roles within SunEdison.
Mr. Quinlivan holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business & Real Estate Finance from Pennsylvania State University.
Declan McCarthy
CFO
Declan McCarthy leads the Finance team across the business, including the Accounting, Capital Markets, FP&A, Power Marketing and Structuring teams. Mr. McCarthy has focused his expertise on managing Luminaces’ robust Balance Sheet and Market-Leading Financing Expertise to support the rapid growth of the Luminace portfolio.
Prior to joining Luminace, Mr. McCarthy had extensive history working with Brookfield Renewable for over 10 years, most recently as the CFO of Brookfield Renewables European Platform. Prior to this he served in various financial management roles across Europe and the United States.
Mr. McCarthy is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland.
Elizabeth Brennan
Chief Operating Officer
As Chief Operating Officer, Elizabeth Brennan oversees asset performance, customer care and health, safety, security and environmental matters. She is responsible for optimizing generation, identifying repowering opportunities and working with existing customers on new DER opportunities.
Before joining Brookfield in 2020, Dr. Brennan was the Global Director of Solar Services at Underwriter’s Laboratory, managing the Solar Consulting Practice for due diligence, energy services and asset management. Prior to that, she was Head of Department at DNV GL, where she managed the technical engineering teams and ran the operation of the PV Evolution Testing labs for modules, inverters and batteries.
Dr. Brennan holds a Bachelor of Science degree and a Master of Science Education degree from Florida State University, as well as a Ph.D. in Chemistry from California Institute of Technology.
Alex Metz
General Counsel
As General Counsel of Luminace, Alexander Metz provides strategic and legal advice and oversees the legal functions of the business.
Mr. Metz joined Brookfield in 2018 and has supported several businesses managed by Brookfield Renewable, including TerraForm Power, Brookfield Renewable U.S. and Luminace. Prior to Brookfield, he was an associate attorney a New York-based law firm, where his practice focused on project finance and corporate finance.
Mr. Metz holds a law degree and Master of Business Administration from Yale University and a Bachelor of Arts and Science degree from McGill University.
Robert Rabe
Vice President - Origination
As Vice President of Origination, Robert Rabe leads all distributed energy sales and origination efforts for the business.
Prior to joining Luminace, Mr. Rabe was the Head of Origination of Constellation’s solar business, leading the sales and origination team. Prior to Constellation, he successfully founded and sold a solar development business, and more recently was General Manager for a national EPC business, before selling that business to a large private equity firm in 2016. Mr. Rabe has successfully originated and closed over 500MWs of distributed solar projects since 2009.
Mr. Rabe earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Science from Wilkes University.
Michael Thomas
Vice President - Technical Sales
Mike Thomas is the Vice President of Technical Sales at Luminace. Mike has over 25 years of experience in industrial and commercial energy systems. His primary focus during this time has been developing, designing, and implementing strategic improvements that increase systems efficiency, maintain compliance, and reduce energy costs. He has audited, studied, and developed numerous energy projects and processes for renewable energy systems, production units, power plants, and wastewater treatment facilities. Prior to joining Luminace, Mike has served as both a systems design engineer and capital projects engineer for Bethlehem Steel Corporation, and Arcelor Mittal. Mike holds a B.S., Electrical Engineering from the University of Maryland College Park and B.S., Mechanical Engineering from the University of Maryland Baltimore County. Mike holds a Project Management Professional credential and is licensed as a Professional Engineer in the State of Maryland.
Richard Justice
Vice President - Engineering & Construction
Mr. Justice has 43 years of experience in the construction industry. Since entering the renewable energy industry in 2010, Mr. Justice has directly implemented or managed approximately 700MW of solar DG projects across 16 states within the United States. Distinguished leader who achieves highest production standards under stringent time and budgetary constraints while handling a multitude of operational scenarios. Proven leader with strong communication, presentation and team building skills. Accomplished and results-oriented management professional with outstanding organizational administration and resource management experience. Record of achievement providing leadership, supervision, and motivational expertise to ensure streamlined workflows and increased efficiency.
Eric Ross
Vice President - Finance & Project Structuring
Eric Ross leads the Project Structuring team, responsible for underwriting and diligencing the development pipeline. Since joining the team in 2018, Eric has led the underwriting for over 600 MWs and $1.7 billion in closed (or approved, pending close) transactions. Eric leads the Capital Committee process for Luminace as well as the company’s IRA strategy.
Prior to this role, Eric held multiple positions within the Exelon and Constellation organizations, as well as in the Energy Practice of NERA Economic Consulting.
Eric holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania and an MBA from the University of Virginia Darden School of Business.
Rick Millett
Vice President, Capital Markets
Rick is responsible for the company’s capital markets strategy and activities. Since joining Brookfield in 2022, the team has raised more than $1.1B in capital to support the growth of various businesses managed by Brookfield.
Prior to Brookfield, Rick worked at Vivint Solar and Sunrun where he closed more than $600M in capital markets transactions across different layers of the capital stack.
Rick holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from Brigham Young University.
Mohammed Habul
Vice President, Power Marketing
As the Vice President of Power Markets at Luminace, Mohammed leads efforts related to Renewable Energy Credit (REC) trading, community solar management, and incentives.
With over a decade of experience in the power, utilities, and renewables sector, Mohammed previously served as a Vice President at Goldman Sachs Renewable Power Group and EY Infrastructure Advisors, LLC. In these roles, he executed and advised on power market transactions and corporate decarbonization strategies. His expertise spans hedging mechanisms, energy markets, and infrastructure investments, enabling him to provide guidance on REC sales, revenue optimization, and community solar platform management.
Mohammed holds an MBA from NYU Stern School of Business, where he focused on finance, market instruments, and negotiations. He also earned a Bachelor of Engineering from Stony Brook University.
Josh Udler
Vice President - Legal
Josh leads the Legal group in several key areas including development, origination, construction, operations, and dispute resolution.
Prior to joining Luminace in 2021, Josh was Managing Counsel-Solar of Constellation Solar, and Assistant General Counsel at Constellation NewEnergy, Inc. and Exelon. He served as lead legal counsel for the solar business from its inception in 2007, and as lead lawyer for its energy services company (ESCO) providing energy efficiency services. He also legally managed IT matters and procurement. Before joining Constellation in 2003, he was an associate in the business and technology practice group of the international law firm DLA Piper (formerly Piper, Marbury, Rudnick and Wolfe) in Washington DC.
Josh attended the University of Maryland where he earned a Juris Doctor from its School of Law, served as managing editor of the law review journal The Business Lawyer, and earned a Master of Business Administration from the Robert H. Smith School of Business. He also graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy, Politics and Law cum laude from Binghamton University (SUNY).
Dan Biller
Vice President - Legal
As Vice President—Legal, Dan Biller oversees legal efforts for project M&A and capital markets for the Luminace business.
Dan has over a decade of experience in project financing and M&A, including significant experience in the power and the renewables sectors. Prior to working at Luminace, Dan was an associate attorney at law firms Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP and Sullivan & Cromwell LLP, where his practice focused on project finance and restructuring. Dan holds a Bachelor of Arts in Art History from Vassar College and a JD from Boston University School of Law.
Clem Vera
Vice President, FP&A
As the Vice President of Finance, Clemencia Vera leads the efforts for financial planning, analysis and accounting to drive decision making across financial metrics and liquidity management.
With over a decade of experience in power, utilities, and the renewables sector, Clemencia has served in various leadership roles at Brookfield Renewables, and its portfolio companies such as Terraform, as well as Brookfield Asset Management. Additionally, she contributed to the early stages of company development at NineDot Energy, a NYC leader in the development of community scale energy storage projects. Prior to these roles, she began her career in the sector at The AES Corporation across both accounting and FP&A functions. During her time in these roles, Clemencia has executed key strategies for the advancement of company growth through the implementation of financial management processes, reporting, system implementations, and people leadership. This has enabled platform growth through the guidance for best practice scalable solutions under her leadership.
Clemencia Vera attended Pepperdine University for undergraduate studies in Accounting and Columbia Business School for graduate studies focusing on finance and climate.
Tori Velazquez
Human Resources
Tori Velazquez joined Luminace in May 2024. She leads the Human Resources function and is focused on strategies and programs related to talent attraction, development, retention, and culture within the organization.
Prior to joining Luminace, Ms. Velazquez was the Senior Director of HR for WIN Waste Innovations a waste management and renewable energy company leading it through significant growth phases. Ms. Velazquez has also held senior HR roles at Aramark, The New York Times, and she led the HR consultancy function at the American Red Cross.
Ms. Velazquez holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from East Carolina University and a Master of Business Administration from Wake Forest University. She’s certified as a Senior HR Professional (SPHR), holds the Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) designation, and has earned certification through Wharton’s CHRO program.
